Inflammatory Markers: Hemoglobin A1c
Glycated hemoglobin is hemoglobin with glucose attached. Helps to determine if you are at an increased risk of developing diabetes.
One of our participants lowered their A1c from 8.1 to 5.9 (below diagnostic range for diabetes). Another one lowered their A1c from 6.3 to 5.4 (within normal blood sugar range).
Cognitive Function
Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) tests for dementia and evaluates orientation, short-term memory, executive function, language ability, abstraction, animal naming, attention and clock-drawing.
A score of 26 or above is considered normal.
Pulmonary Function
The Clinical COPD Questionnaire (CCQ) looks at lung health from three domains: symptom, functional state and mental state.
A score of zero shows excellent lung health and a score of 60 shows extremely poor lung health.
WHO-QOL: Overall Quality of Life
World Health Organization’s Quality of Life questionnaire’s first question looks at participants overall quality of life.
Score is on a scale of 1-5 with five indicating overall quality of life is high.
WHO-QOL: Overall Health Satisfaction
World Health Organization’s Quality of Life questionnaire’s second question looks at participants overall satisfaction with their health.
Score is on a scale of 1-5 with five indicating health satisfaction is high.
